Toast CEO Chris Comparato Joins Over 2,000 CEOs to Advance Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

April 12, 2022— Toast, the all-in-one digital platform built for restaurants, today announced that its CEO Chris Comparato has signed onto the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

By signing on to this commitment, Toast is pledging to take action to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected, and where employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity, equity and inclusion.

The CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge calls upon participating organizations to accelerate diversity and inclusion by committing to actions in each of its components:

• Continue to make its workplaces trusting places to have complex, and sometimes difficult, conversations about diversity & inclusion

• Expand unconscious bias education and share best practices and innovative ideas for progress

• Share strategic inclusion and diversity plans with our board of directors

Toast will bake inclusive principles into its practices, equity into its design, embrace unique identities and leverage the strength of diversity to achieve the best results. Partnering with the CEO Action Movement represents an important step for Toast in further committing to its company values. It provides a framework to engage colleagues and customers in existing efforts to enhance the Toast experience for all.

These efforts include supporting the Toast CAFE (Council of Advocates For Equity) and Toast Communities (ERGs), made up of Toasters across the organization that bring their unique perspectives and partnerships to enable the success of all employees and Toast's business. Toast will continue to move to actionable solidarity through equitable development programs, benefits and a safe space for conversations.
