Toast, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (referred to as “Toast” in this Policy) use cookies, web beacons and other tracking technologies (collectively referred to as “cookies” in this Policy) on our websites, including (referred to generally as our “Websites”) and as part of the Services  (as defined in the main body of our Privacy Statement), which may include our mobile applications. In this Cookie Policy, we provide information about cookies, the types of cookies we use and how you may control cookies. This Policy should be read together with Toast’s Privacy Statement (found here).

This Policy only applies to the European Economic Area (“EEA”) and United Kingdom markets.

1. Cookies and other tracking technologies

A “cookie” is a small text file placed and saved in your browser when you access our Websites, our Services and our mobile applications. We use both session cookies (i.e., cookies that are stored only for a specific website visit) and persistent cookies (i.e., cookies that are stored beyond a specific website visit) on our Websites to provide the Services and for the purposes described in our Privacy Statement. These cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or set by third parties that collect information on our behalf (third-party cookies), such as Google Analytics.

Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are needed to provide services and features you have specifically requested.  We use cookies and tracking technologies for security and fraud-prevention purposes, for system administration or to allow you to make use of payment processing functionality (and other necessary functions of our Services). Non-essential cookies (you have control over the use of these cookies):

Performance cookies:  We use cookies to assess the performance of our Websites, Services and mobile applications, including as part of our analytics practices to monitor and/or improve the content offered through these channels.  

Functional cookies:  We use cookies to help us store user settings and preferences to enable website and mobile application functionality, and we also use these cookies to tell us, for example, whether you have visited our Websites before or if you are a new visitor.  

Targeting cookies: We and third-party advertisers use cookies to show you relevant products, offers and advertisements. These cookies also help us provide you with content tailored to you and your interests on our Websites, Services (including digital ordering services) and mobile applications.

3. Third parties

Your use of our Websites, Services and mobile applications may result in some cookies being stored that are not controlled by us. 4. Managing cookies

Consent management tool: You can manage your cookies and withdraw your consent for cookies set on our EEA and UK-specific Websites (ex - and using our cookie preference center or the “Cookie Settings” link located within the footer on the applicable Website. 

Brower controls:  You can also use the options found within your web browser to set your cookie preferences if you do not wish to receive a cookie or if you wish to set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. These options are commonly found in the “preferences” or “options” tab of your browser. Targeted advertising and your choices:  In certain cases, we allow third-party advertising partners to use cookies, web beacons and other tracking technologies on our Websites, mobile applications and within our Services to collect information about you and your activities for interest-based advertising or other targeted content.  The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. This information may be shared with ad networks and other content providers. 

If you want to opt out of receiving online interest-based advertisements on your internet browser, please visit  and follow the instructions at, or to place an opt-out cookie on your device indicating that you do not want to receive interest-based advertisements.  Opt-out cookies only work on the specific internet browser and device that they are downloaded onto. If you delete cookies on your device generally, you will need to set the opt-out cookie again on that device. Please note that when you opt out of receiving interest-based advertisements, this does not mean you will no longer see advertisements from us or on our online services.  It means that the online ads that you do see should not be tailored to your interests.  We are not responsible for the effectiveness of, or compliance with, any third-parties’ opt-out options or programs or the accuracy of their statements regarding their programs. In addition, third parties may still use cookies to collect information about your use of our online services, including for analytics and fraud prevention purposes. 

Mobile advertising:  You can opt out of having your mobile advertising identifiers used for certain types of targeted or personalized advertising by accessing the settings on your mobile device. 

Do Not Track: We may use, and we may allow third-party service providers and other third parties to use, cookies or other technologies on our Services that collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites following your use of the Services. Do Not Track (“DNT”) is an optional browser setting that allows you to express your preferences regarding tracking across websites. We currently do not respond to DNT signals. We may continue to collect information in the manner described in this Privacy Statement from web browsers that have enabled DNT signals or similar mechanisms.

Website links: Our Websites contains links to other third-party websites.  These websites are not operated or maintained by Toast.  If you follow a link to any of these websites please note that Toast does not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third parties websites. Once you have left our Websites or mobile applications you should consult the relevant privacy statement/policy of the third-party website in order to determine what information (which may include personal information) it collects about you and how it is used.
