BOSTON – This Wednesday, the New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) named Toast Restaurant POS the winner of the Hottest Startup: A+ at the 2016 NEVY Awards. The event, hosted by NEVCA and Johnson & Johnson at the House of Blues in Boston, celebrated New England’s biggest winners across the Life Science and Tech communities. The Hottest Startup: A+ award is awarded to companies that are "setting the world on fire." These companies must be in the A, B, or C stage and must have received funding between February 2014 and now.
"We are so honored to receive the NEVY for Hottest A+ Startup of the Year by the New England Venture Capital Association," said Chris Comparato, CEO of Toast. "It's amazing to be recognized by such a prestigious organization for all the hard work that our team across the U.S. has devoted to our customer base, transforming the lives of restaurant owners and the way guests dine out. 2015 was a tremendous year for Toast, and we are excited for what the rest of 2016 will bring."
In the past year, Toast has reported:
In addition, the company continues to project high growth in the years to come. However, throughout this immense growth, Toast's mission remains true: to transform the lives of restaurant owners and dramatically improve the guest experience by leveraging innovative technology.
“Restaurant technology should add efficiency and take away obstacles, so that restaurant operators can do what is best for the guests," said Ben Kaplan, Director of Operations at Barbara Lynch Gruppo in Boston. "We went with Toast because we could see them as a partner, not just a vendor. They’re just as focused on an exceptional customer experience as we are." Read the rest of the case study here.
This year’s nominees for the NEVY awards were selected by an academy of judges composed of last year’s winners, experts in the technology and life science industries and Boston’s industry influencers, and experts who have made a major impact on the city’s entrepreneurial and venture capital landscape.
